How to Make Big Mac Sliders

First: Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 9×13 baking dish or baking sheet with nonstick spray.

Second: In a small bowl, combine the ingredients for the sauce. Mix to combine and set aside.

Third: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onions, salt and pepper until the ground beef is no longer pink and the onions are soft. Remove from heat and drain.

Fourth: Place the bottoms of the slider buns in the prepared dish or sheet pan. Spread a thin layer of the big mac special sauce on the bottom buns. Top with the ground beef mixture.

Fifth: Top with cheese slices to cover the beef as evenly as possible. Place pickle slices on the cheese layer, try to space them so each slider gets pickles.

Sixth: Bake for 8-10 minutes to melt the cheese. Remove from the oven and top with shredded lettuce and more special sauce.

Seventh: Top with the buns. Brush the buns with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve warm!

Serving Suggestions

Of course you want to serve these with crispy french fries to complete the meal!

Other great options are crispy tater tots, potato chips, onion rings, or fresh veggies.

I love making these for a crowd and serving them as the star of the show, along with a Butter Board and Pickle Charcuterie Board.

How long do they last?

Store any leftover big mac sliders in the fridge for up to 3 days. The buns may get soggy.

If this happens, you can toast them in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes on 350F. Or take out the insides and spread over lettuce to make a Big Mac Salad.

Can I freeze them?

I don’t recommend freezing these. You can make the ground beef mixture ahead of time and freeze it. Then thaw, assemble, and bake the sliders.

When do I add the lettuce?

I add the lettuce before I bake them. I love it like this but if you prefer cold lettuce (and sauce) then bake the sliders, take off the top buns and add the lettuce.

Then add the top buns back on. It can get tricky with the melted cheese but it will work out fine.

Tapas Tips & Tricks

  • If using different slider buns or dinner rolls, you can form individual little burger patties and place on a cookie sheet and bake them. Or cook them individually and add to the buns before baking.
  • Some prefer the shredded lettuce warm. You can add it with the cheese and pickles and bake it all together if you prefer.
  • If you like the cold lettuce and sauce, I recommend placing the slider bun tops on a baking sheet and brushing with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 2-3 minutes to get them warm before placing on top of the baked sliders.
  • Substitute thousand island dressing for the copycat big mac sauce if needed.
  • Use mini hamburger patties (cooked) and top with some grilled onions instead of making a ground beef mixture.
