The big game is almost here, which means it’s time to start planning your watch party snacks and foods.
I like to serve tried and true recipes that I know everyone will love. A little bit of this and that, from appetizers to desserts, and everything in between.
But they also have to be easy so I won’t spend the whole game in the kitchen and miss all the great plays, and commercials!

1. Chicken Wings
No Super Bowl party is complete without a platter of Buffalo wings smothered in your favorite sauce. Try baking instead of frying for a healthier option.
I love a little sweet heat so these Sriracha Honey Wings hit the spot. If you like a stronger punch of flavor these Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings.
Dry rubs are right up my alley as the wings can stay crispy. My Jerk Chicken Wings are just that.
Plus then you can use your favorite dipping sauces like blue cheese or Ranch!
2. Nachos
Pile high some tortilla chips and top with melted cheddar cheese sauce, chili or taco meat, guacamole, salsa, and all your favorite toppings.
If you need some inspiration, try my Chicken Nachos and Fajita Nachos. Want to try something outside the box?
These Italian Sheet Pan Nachos are a new twist on nachos that you won’t be able to resist.
Or make some Nachos Supreme. This taco Bell copycat is easy to make at home:)
3. Sliders
Burgers are always a great choice for watching football. For me, bite size is better which is why I love sliders.
These mini sandwiches are great for watching the game or filling your plate during the halftime show!
My favorite ones are filled with hearty ground beef and tons of cheese. Which is why my Cheeseburger Sliders are a crowd pleaser. Right up there with my Big Mac Sliders and Sloppy Joe Sliders.
If you prefer something other than ground beef, these Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders and Pork Tenderloin Sliders are for you.
Want a cold one or even a meatless one? Try my Club Sliders and my Italian Veggie Sliders. Now there is something for everyone!
4. Hot Cheesy Dips
Dipping a chip or a cracker into a dish full of melty cheese is right up there on my to-do list for sure. And any one of these will be the MVP of your Super Bowl spread.
Paired with your favorite dippers like pretzels or fresh veggies, any of these delicious dips make the football game better!
This Beer Cheese Dip, Spinach Dip, and Mississippi Sin Dip come with with an edible serving bowl making them a game-changer.

Kick up the flavor a bit with some Jalapeno Popper Dip, Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip, and Rotel Dip with ground turkey. Or serve a classic appetizer like this 7 Layer Dip with Meat. Simple ingredients made this flavorful dip a hit for the big game.
5. Cold Dips
Perfect for light snacking and they pair well with just about every type of chip out there. Make these ahead of time and skip the stress!
My favorite is Everything Bagel Dip because of the Bagel Seasoning, but this Fried Pickle Dip Recipe is just as good. Tangy and creamy and full of flavor.
Keep it simple with this 3 ingredient Chip Dip, or stick with the classic Sour Cream and Onion Dip and French Onion Dip. Homemade Caramelized onions make this extra special.
6. Chips & Salsa
Top of the list for the most popular foods served at any super bowl party for sure. Make your own homemade recipe or grab one of these for the easiest of Super Bowl Appetizers!
Restaurant Style Salsa uses just a handful of ingredients and a blender. Switch things up and serve a Green Salsa Verde with a unique, tangy flavor. I like it more than the red salsa!
Tortilla chips always love a creamy White Queso Recipe with Evaporated milk, or Guacamole. Make is plain or add in some extras like toasted pumpkin seeds and pomegranate seeds.
Feeling fresh? This Pico de Gallo is a great option along with Cowboy Caviar. Full of black beans, black eye peas, and tons of other fresh goodies, it pops with the lime juice dressing!
7. Pizza
Most people order pizza because it’s super easy to do. But with everyone ordering you might have to wait a long time to get it.
Make these pizza inspired dishes instead. You will still get to enjoy all your favorite toppings:)
A Crockpot Pizza Dip will stay warm and cheesy during the game. Serve it with chips made from pizza crust for more of that pizza flavor.
Make Pizza Pinwheels instead of bagel pizzas or Pizza Rolls. They are more filling and delicious!
Want something more adventurous? These Pizza Egg Rolls are fun and these Hawaiian Pizza Sliders always spark a debate about whether or not you should put pineapple on pizza.
8. Hand Held Appetizers & Finger Foods
Everyone loves something that they can pick up or hold in their hand while yelling at the TV. Plus you need a hand free to cheer on your favorite team.
Some of my favorites are Mozzarella Cheese Sticks and Loaded Baked Potato Skins Recipe. Crispy and cheesy any way you look at them!
Pigs in a Blanket are a classic finger food that’s always a hit during football season. Make a puff pastry version like these Puff Pastry Little Smokie.
Spicy Sausage Balls are another one of those party foods I like to pop in my mouth with reckless abandon. Just like this Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread recipe. And you can’t go wrong with Loaded French Fries. Still mega cheesy and flavorful!

9. Crock Pot Dishes for a Crowd
Setting aside the appetizers and finger foods for a second, let’s talk about a big batch of something yummy. In my opinion some of the best foods to make for a crowd come in a crock pot.
They are easy to throw together, stay warm throughout the game, and you can serve them a few different ways.
Tacos and hot dogs make easy “Food Bars” to set up. Just add some taco shells or buns, some toppings, and let your football fans go wild making their own meal.
Whip up a batch of my Crockpot Taco Meat or toss some Hot Dogs in the Slow Cooker and sit back and relax.
Some of my other favorites to make are my Pork Carnitas, Crack Chicken, BBQ Pulled Chicken. They feed a crowd and taste great on slider buns!
You also can’t go wrong with a steaming bowl of Chili🙂 It work’s great on those hot dogs too!
10. Desserts
After all this delicious savory food, I need something sweet. How about you? I don’t think anyone will object to cookies, brownies, or even Rice Krispie treats. Or any sweet treats for that matter!
Plus these are great to make ahead of time. If you don’t eat them all before the game starts.
You can’t go wrong with these Football Cookies. They are super cute and are full of peanut butter and chocolate! These Bacon Salt Brownies are a salty sweet combo. And they have BACON so there’s that.
Want something more low-key and traditional? Make a batch of these No Bake Peanut Butter Bars or classic Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Entertaining Tips
- Set up a self-serve drink station with ice, bottled beverages, and red Solo cups so guests can help themselves. Be sure to have plenty of ice:)
- Make sure there are enough plates, utensils, napkins, and place trash cans handy but close.
- Play fun Super Bowl or football related music in the background to set the mood.
- Decorate with team banners, balloons, or get plates and cups in the team colors!
- Have some fun games like square pools or prop betting boards ready for people who want to make the game interesting.
Should I make anything in advance?
Yes, definitely prepare you party dips, desserts, or any dishes you can refrigerate or warm up easily ahead of time. This allows you more time to enjoy the game and hang with your friends and family.
How much food should I have?
Plan for at least a couple of party appetizers per guest, plus beverages, sides, and dessert. It’s better to have too much than run out.
The rule for entertaining is 2-3 pieces/servings per person per hour. This can vary depending on the types of dishes you are serving.
Do guests prefer sweet or savory snacks?
I don’t know about you but when I have something salty, I always want something sweet right after. Try and keep an good mix of the two or serve something that has both!
