Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

Egg rolls are similar to spring rolls. They are pastry-like wraps that you can put any filling in, seal and fry to crispy perfection on the outside.

The filling remains tender, and the insides of these cheeseburger egg rolls are juicy and flavorful. So you get the perfect combination of the crispy, crunch outside with a tender juicy filling inside.

These cheeseburger egg rolls became popular a few years ago when they appeared at the Magic Kingdom. This fast-food was a sensation at the time, and then it was taken off their menu!

Lo and behold, they have been made available again and the internet is once again going wild. Whether you’re an avid Disney fan or not, these handy snacks are undeniably delicious, and they’re also quick and easy to make!

Egg rolls make a great appetizer but they can also be served as a side dish, snack, or as a part of any dinner or party table spread.

They are easy and delicious so if you haven’t ever made them at home, now is the perfect time to give it a go! I even have a Big Mac egg rolls version!

Ingredients Needed

Ground Beef – I prefer a 93/7 lean ground beef but any ground beef will work.

Cheddar Cheese – Use whatever cheese that you would normally use on a cheeseburger.

Dill Pickles – I love dill relish but sweet works just as well.

Egg Roll Wrappers – Any brand is fine. I find these in the produce section of my local supermarket.

Seasoning – Cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. You can also use a homemade burger or steakhouse seasoning.

Vegetable Oil – For deep frying.

How to make Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

First: Preheat 3 inches of oil to 375° in a large stockpot or similar deep pan. In a large skillet over medium heat add the ground beef and spices.

Cook until no longer pink and remove from heat. Drain excess fat if desired.

Second: In a medium sized mixing bowl combine the beef mixture, shredded cheese, pickles, and chopped onion. Stir to combine.

Third: Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one of the corners pointing toward you. Spoon 3 tablespoons of cheeseburger filling in the bottom half center of the wrapper.

Fold the bottom corner up and over the filling so that it is mostly covered.

Fourth: Next, fold the two side corners into the middle so it looks like an envelope. Lastly, brush the top corner with water and roll the wrapper from the bottom up to seal.

Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers.

Fifth: Fry for 3-4 minutes, flipping as needed, until golden brown. Once cooked, remove from the pot and place on a wire rack, plate or baking sheet lined with paper towels.

Allow to cool slightly, and serve with our favorite dipping sauce.
