How to Make Hooters’ Buffalo Chicken Dip
First: While the oven preheats at 350F, shred the chicken. In a large skillet, combine wing sauce and chicken in a large skillet. Stir until combined and heated through.
Mix in cream cheese and stir until melted. Lastly, add the ranch dressing.
Second: Pour the cream cheese buffalo chicken mixture into a 9×13 baking dish, topping with cheddar cheese.
Bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until the dip is bubbling and the cheese is melty.
Third: Serve with tortilla chips and celery sticks, and enjoy!

Will low fat cream cheese work?
Cream cheese is unfortunately one of the cheeses for this recipe that is hard to substitute for a lower calorie option. Low-fat options might separate as it bakes, which will taste less than satisfactory to say the least.
I’ve attempted Neufchâtel cheese, and that was the best low calorie option I’ve found yet! It still tastes delicious, but true cream cheese lovers can taste the difference.
What goes with Buffalo Chicken Dip?
Buffalo chicken dip is so versatile it could be your main course or a filling side dish. To start dipping away, my favorite choices are tortilla chips or celery.
However, French baguette slices, pita chips, or bell pepper slices are another favorite in my house!
How long will it last?
If you have leftovers (which is impressive), go ahead and throw the remaining dip in an airtight container to keep in the refrigerator.
The buffalo chicken dip will be fine for three to four days, making a perfect side for your lunches.
Where can I buy Hooters’ Wing Sauce?
Other than going to Hooters itself, you can buy a bottle or jar of this delicious hot sauce at your local grocery store like Kroger, Walmart, Target, or Publix.
How can I thicken Hooters Buffalo Dip?
Follow the recipe and the buffalo chicken dip will be the right consistency— but this is a kitchen, and not everything goes to plan.
After or before baking, add another tablespoon or two of cream cheese to reach your desired thickness.
Tapas Tips & Tricks
- Thicken your buffalo chicken dip by adding a tablespoon or more or cream cheese; if this happens to dilute the flavor, add a splash of Hooters’ wing sauce!
- Soften your cream cheese prior to mixing to avoid any clumps in the dip. Set it out 20 to 30 minutes prior to cooking.
- Store the buffalo chicken dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days.
- Keep this dish warm during any gathering to prevent any cold buffalo chicken dip being served.
