Pineapple Drinks
I haven’t thought about pairing bourbon with pineapple juice before until this last weekend when I bought a few pineapples on sale. Totally in love with them!
And when I was already mixing a cocktail for Brooks when I popped a piece of the fresh cut pineapple in my mouth.
Taking a sip of his bourbon, as it is a new bottle and one I haven’t tried before, it tasted so good with the flavor of pineapple still in my mouth. This immediately got my brain wheels turning.
How about a pineapple mixed drink made with bourbon?!?!
Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade
The combination of the pineapple and the bourbon tastes amazing but it needed something to round out the flavors.
Mixed drinks with pineapple juice need something equally full-flavored to balance them out. Especially with the richness of the bourbon.
If you are not a fan of bourbon drinks and prefer something a little more “in your face” then feel free to make this a pineapple drink.
Ingredients Needed
- Pineapple juice
- Lemon Juice
- Bourbon
With regards to the bourbon, just use your favorite bourbon or whiskey. My husband loves the Weller brand for making bourbon mixed drinks as it’s affordable and delicious.
Any for those of you still questioning if you want a bourbon drink… you know that little burn you get when you take the first sip- it only happens with the first sip AND the pineapple helps to take out the bite. Give it a chance.

How to make Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade

- Shake and pour into glasses with ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices or pineapple wedges. I love the smell of fresh fruit hitting my nose. A mint sprig is also lovely.

What can I mix with lemonade?
I love to try lots of different fruits with lemonade, but my faves are strawberry, passionfruit, and cherry! If you find another fruit that you love with lemonade, please let me know!
If you want to make it an adult version, try bourbon, vodka, rum, and even tequila with it. I haven’t tried gin with lemonade yet, but it is next on my list.
Mixing it with bourbon makes it perfect Kentucky Derby Menu Ideas and is super refreshing!
Tapas Tips & Tricks
- Chill the pineapple juice before mixing so the ice doesn’t melt as fast.
- Too tart, add a splash of orange juice or simple syrup to the mix.
- Need more orange, try a splash of orange liqueur!
- If the bourbon is a little too strong feel free to add prepared lemonade instead of the lemon juice or simply reduce the amount of bourbon to 1 ounce and increase the lemon juice to 2 ounces.
- Add your garnishes to your Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade with these skewers. They work well!

Started scrolling down. Just needed the proportions. Ten years later, I finally found it. This website sucks.
jesus christ ! it takes for ever to find the actual recipe because of all the ads! you may have a lot more followers if your site was not loaded up with so much crap.
I’m sorry that you didn’t see the “jump to recipe” button just below the title at the top of the page. That might have saved the few strokes of your finger that are so taxing to you. I’m confident that once you make the recipe that you will be happy. The ads that you don’t like, and are able to scroll easily past, pay to keep this website working to provide the FREE recipes that you enjoy, at no cost to you. I don’t show up at your office and scream about how the decorations look, so please be kind and do the same in mine. Have a great day!
@Jennifer, so gracefully said!
Delicious and much doesn’t suffer from the overpowering sweetness of other pineapple cocktails. I used my cheap bourbon and didn’t adjust the recipe at all.
This is will be my summer ‘go to’ Drink! I changed it up a bit. I used 3oz of ‘Tennessee Honey Jack”, 3 oz of pineapple juice & ! lemon = 1 oz of lemon juice. I cannot even begin to tell you how good this is with the Honey Jack. Try it!
These were great. I got pineapple Dole Whip from the frozen yogurt place and added that in.
That is a great idea! I am trying that next time for sure!
Very nice! I’m a bourbon lover, so I’d use a bit more whiskey.
1 pineapple 1 lemonade 1.5 bourbon
This cocktail recipe looks and sounds so refreshing. With summer coming up, it’s one I will be sure testing out for house parties with friends.
What brand of bourbon did you end up using?
Thank you! I ended up using Weller because I love that it has more of a caramel flavor to it but feel free to use any bourbon you have on hand! Enjoy!
STARS – after a couple of these –I’M SEEING STARS !!
Love it!
This cocktail was a hit at my husband’s birthday party! Everyone loved it and I even got a text the next day for the recipe. Will definitely add this to our repertoire. We were not able to manage the fresh pineapple juice so we used Dole and it was delicious!
Just as good in my opinion. I like the fresh but it doesn’t tend to foam up in a weird way. So glad you liked it!
This looks delicious! Where did you get the cute glasses for serving?
I found them on eBay! Search for “authentic recycled glass”. I have also found some at TJMaxx but it’s hit and miss. I do love them, they are fun to drink out of and fun to photograph. I have a blue set that I am looking forward to using in a recipe soon:)
@chubcheeks@bellsouth.net, World Market may have something similar!
This recipeSarah is awesome
Thank you so much!
I Love thuthis s recipe and found it to be good as a frozen drink
Thank you! I will have to give it a try!
Too tart for me. Reduced the lemon juice by half and added a pinch of Truvia.
This post made me thirsty. I can imagine myself beside a swimming pool in a cloudy afternoon enjoying this pineapple bourbon lemonade. Will definitely try this one this weekend.
This looks deliciously refreshing – perfect for the hot summer months! Will be adding to my recipe book
