Equipment
baking sheet
parchment paper
Ingredients
3
medium
sweet potatoes
1
tablespoon
cornstarch
2
tablespoons
olive Oil
½
teaspoon
salt
preferably sea salt
¼
teaspoon
black pepper
¼
teaspoon
garlic powder
¼
teaspoon
onion powder
¼
teaspoon
dried parsley
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450℉ and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Peel and cut the sweet potatoes in strips about ¼ - ½ inch thick and place in a bowl.
Add the cornstarch and stir, or if the bowl has a lid, put the lid on and shake it.
Add the olive oil and all of the seasonings, then stir or shake until all of the strips are covered almost evenly.
Spread the fries out evenly on the baking sheet, do not overlap, you may need to bake these in batches depending on the size of your baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes then flip and bake for another 10-15 minutes until they become slightly dark.
Allow to cool slightly and enjoy with your favorite dip!
Notes
Line the pan with parchment paper or foil. I would spray the foil with nonstick spray so it doesn't stick.
Let them cool slightly before you try them.
Don't skip the cornstarch step as this makes them the crispiest sweet potato fries you have ever tried.
Skip the spices and just use salt and pepper if you like. I love mine with
Italian seasoning
.
For some heat, I like a little chili powder or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
When baking these, make sure you have them in only 1 layer. Spread them out to get heat on all sides.
You may need to bake these in batches depending on the size of your sheet pan.
If you happen to have some fries that come out darker than the others, that's ok. Smaller and thinner fries will caramelize quicker and get sweeter.
